Like most young people her age (20) she does a little weed. A little, not a lot, and she hardly drinks at all from what I can tell. Anyway, she said some federal agencies have said they will continue to enforce federal regulations despite new state laws. I was skeptical. I said there would be a huge backlash if they tried to trump on state's rights like that. When we got back here I did some research and it turned out she was right. The feds are indeed still arresting people for possession in CA, WA, and CO, citing federal law.

That's been an issue for people growing medical marijuana in California for a while not. DEA comes busting in, destroys your crop, arrests you, which will then be dropped because you have the required state and federal certificates posted, but you're still out all the money you dropped into that crop. Considering the costs of water, electricity, etc to grow marijuana 'legally', it's barely worth it and apparently you just can't grow it outside.
