I don't think the language has been corrupted. I think it has evolved. And that is part of its strength.

BTW, a curse on Stanford in the Rose Bowl <g>. I graduated from Wisconsin and so will be cheering for the Badgers. It has been quite a week in Badger Country. First their head coach, Bret Bielema, took off for the Arkansas job, and then his predecessor and boss Barry Alvarez announced that he will coach the team in the Rose Bowl. Alvarez has made it clear that this is for only one game until a new head coach can be found. Alvarez is the guy who turned Wisconsin around from a perennial losing team, usually found near the bottom of the Big Ten, into a perennial national power. They won three Rose Bowls under him. He hand picked Bielema as his successor when he moved on to the relative anonymity of being the athletic director.

Now this wrinkle. I think I have it figured out. The legend returns to coach one last game. The Rose Bowl. It's a movie.
