The reasons: 1. when referring to all other former soviet countries they use "in" (в Россию, в Армению, etc.) 2. The On in Russian sounds like "пошел на ху... :) (I hope you can read the cyrillic). So when I was visiting the old country recently I had to watch my language <g>.
