I am in no rush to adopt Windows 8 myself but it's pretty early to be writing it off IMO. The general trend of upgrading to the latest version of Windows more slowly has been going on for a long time, particularly in the corporate world. Also, Windows itself is becoming less relevant as people do more and more of their computing on the web.
