>I do not like the idea of guns but they are all around us. As for the first story, it might have been better had the woman had a 44 magnum. 38’s are not that lethal. Who knows if the guy will return someday, to “get even”. A friend or relative might return and I cannot imagine how this family will react.

I'm still scratching my head at how he dirtbag is still alive after taking 5 shots to the 'face and neck'.

>As for the second story, I have to agree that training means a lot in such a situation. You have to be trained how to react. There is no time to rationalize in such a situation. I do not think that the average person on the street should be armed. Maybe we all need to be trained? Better yet, we should all be civilized!

>In 1965 the United States Air Force took away our Colt 45’s and replaced them with 38’s. I was never comfortable with that. The stopping power of a 38 is very limited. If your life is on the line.....

>After these types of events are over people think about a lot of things - what if this or what if that? Reality can be a hard thing to live with.

>>That evil woman used a gun on that poor disenfranchised youth. Take her guns away and let the gub-mint take care of her children!!

>>Too bad the disenfranchised youth lived. The ambulance should have taken the long route to the hospital.
