>>>This was not a happy playoff weekend for me; every team I was cheering for lost. But there was one classy moment. Respect at the very highest level of performance. It reminded me what keeps some of us interested in sports, beyond the surface level of who wins or loses.

>Maybe I should do what my ex-GF is doing. She lives in Wisconsin and is a Packers fanatic (aren't they all?). When the Packers lost this weekend she said that was the end of her football season. And I know she means it. When her team (Packers, Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers) is out, that's it.

Now that is what it means to be a real fan! When the 49er's are in the Super Bowl I watch it. Otherwise I have better things to do. Same goes for the baseball Giants - if they are in the World Series I will watch it.
