Hi Garrett,

1) WishList on UT got nowhere, and in fact I could only find 2 (repeat: 2) which had any semblance of incoropration into VFP 6.

2) FoxWish, except on one instance, never even acknowledged receipt of submissions.

3) On the one where some feedback was given (by Mr. Green himself, no less) it was stated that (paraphrasing) 'we are certainly working on that issue', leading me to believe that I might see something in VFP 5 and surely see something in VFP 6. Nada, zilch, nil, zero ever came of it.

4) The Toronto Fox User's Group disbanded within a coupla months of my (and several others) joining!@#@!

5) None of the big names seem anywhere near Toronto (oops, maybe Vlad T. should count, in which case one does, but. . .).

6) June DEVCON. . . Shouldn't there be something a little more concrete and 'formal', with implied follow-ups and commitments? Some words at DEVCON could just as easily either be forgotten or addressed to the wrong person or. . .

Bill Gates is on record as saying that MS folks have to get closer to their users. Hopefully this also means MORE of their users, and not just closer to the chosen few. It seemed to me, for instance, that VFP 6 was GREAT for add-on (to VFP) product developers but had marginal new for average Joe. Sure we got ACCESS/ASSIGN (also most exploitable by add-in developers) but hardly much else.

We really need something with some backbone to it.

Cheers,

Jim N

>>Now, how do we, the developers who actually use the product to solve business
>>problems, tell those guys/gals the things *WE* need in the next release(s)????

>You said FoxWish hadn't gotten you the results you wanted, right? How about User Group meetings: are you near any that get big-name speakers (rgreen himself, maybe?) who might be able to pass on your wishes? DevCon in June would be a good place to catch the people who could do something about it....
