Don't think so - since the german Navy did not get the French ships I think landing would have been possible,
although with much higher casualties. But with the bulk of the army not destroyed in the east,
getting out of that shrubbery area in the first few weeks would have been much harder.
Concentrating spread out groups with high speed after the landing area was identified
would have been tailor made for the german forces and both had similar problems in the shrubbery.
