>If it could be recognized that the only thing people lose in sharing digital content is their own personal empire, and that the people who receive the digital content have received far greater gains than any personal losses (due to the number of them who can receive it -- all of them who have digital devices), then all of this would end overnight.

>Digital content is not like other things. It can be replicated without error to the extent of the online world. And nothing is lost because the first person putting it out there still has their copy as well. The only things lost were the invisible monopolistic fortresses people like to erect around their work (the kind that bring them personal gain at the expense of everybody else).

>It goes like this:
>All digital content should be global communal property residing in the public domain. This includes all software, all movies, all music, all web content, everything that is conveyed digitally. It should be this way because nothing is lost when copies are made ... except the individual's personal invisible monopolistic fortress. And that's something we can all do without when you consider the tremendous gain had by the other 6+ billion people on the planet.

>www.visual-freepro.org/wiki ... read the first eight paragraphs.

Ok first the article is not about that it's about the business practices of the offending law firm. As for your eight paragraphs - your endless dribble about 'gift given to us by God' is utterly absurd. Yes I have issue with the way the record companies have treated their musicians over the years but saying things like "Proprietary software controls, and the mechanisms created by men to implement those controls, are outright abominations unto God and the basic tenents of goodness" not only makes me want to puke but frankly makes me wonder if I even want to try visual freepro - I'd say over 80% of my clients would have a problem being involved with such lunacy and not only wouldn't use the product but would question my mental well-being as a result if I tried. Furthermore with views like that I would suspect a prospective employer looking for a programmer (where you are expected to keep trade secrets and protect source code) would probably run as fast as they could from someone who thinks all software should be free cause god told him so. I sure as hell wouldn't hire ya - I'd be afraid you woke up one day and decided God told ya to rip off my software and years of hard work and put it in the public domain.
