It's not a problem - it's an innovation - and economics spur innovation.

>The idea here is to change the mindset, to re-focus goals away from monetary gain and instead focus them on the achievement, the work, the global mind God gave all of us to work together and solve problems in earnest, seeking to truly find the correct solution for all ... and not just the solution for my wallet, or the wallets of my buddies, but rather for all of mankind.

I'm afraid that if your idea here is to change mindset of all human beings ..then your idea really really sucks.

I don't think that 14yr old kid in his bedroom is going to get similar results as a large well funding business staffed with orthopedic surgeons (unless the surgeons spend all day sitting around doing nothing but praying for god to lead them of course)

>There are too many people to discount that benefit. God has given too many people special and unique talents and interests. The global mind can do more than any focused effort by any number of other people. If we hold things up to God, and ask Him what we should be doing ... He will lead us.

>It's not a matter of open source programmers. We're talking about theory and ideas as well. People can often understand theories far better than they can understand mechanics. In the case of AI, a kid could understand what needs to happen to make it work without necessarily knowing how to code it.

So people understand theories far better than mechanics? Perhaps this is true for bible-thumpers (because it's all dreamed up non-tangable and unreal things) and at same time they have to deny the obviousness of mechanics and science in general.

>By putting everything into the public domain, it can go to all of those God leads to fill their roles using the talents He gave them for those purposes.

>It's about looking to the world, rather than looking to self. It's about serving our brothers and sisters before ourselves. It's about putting ourselves in a proper perspective. It's about love.

If you want to do something productive - why not get involved with crowdsourcing?
This is interesting...
http://www.openinggovernment.org/proof-crowdsourcing-solves-problems-faster-and-more-accurate/

..unless of course the fact that using crowdsourcing as a problem-solving tool for complex biological issues might cause you to think it's all the devils work....
