Sure about DECT radiating a lot if no call is currently done ? Too tired to read up myself... I know the phones look for the home station, but guessed that in "standby" their radiation was much lower. As reception is without problem on most of the ground, putting base station away from normal occupation areas should be possible to - should decrease radiation exposure and burn 1 or 2 extra kalories.

And the few times the microwave is running simply leaving the kitchen should allow square law to kick in, even if I don't have lead-lined walls. Pretty certain most FengShui and hidden water specialists would stome me as I still prefer water beds and am brave enough to heat them with electricity...
