Like any other product, after the 'heroic' phase, computing has become a commodity: you dump your old device and get to buy a new one at you nearest mall.

Younger people no longer know or want to know what 'install' means - they just expect to find everyting they need on the device, or on the Internet.
(please note that the word 'device' now replaces 'machine' in most 'tech' litterature)
