My prior responsibilities were for an app. with 35 gigs of FP data, at least 6 tables of which were always extremely close to 2 gig. Had top-flight performance all around for ONLINE work.

In other words, Fox *is* fast (with decent design) regardless of size of table(s). However, a a mid-tier, that will matter not at all.
