I served as consultant to our Powerbuilder folks trying to do exactly the same thing (dialing a pager and sending a telephone number). We managed to get part of it, but (and I don't recall exactly what the problems were) never could get the whole thing. Eventually ended up doing it via ActiveX.

Let me dig up the code, translate it in VFP, and post it. Maybe there'll be something there that'll help. Who knows, maybe we can help each other out.
