I think is just an issue of incompleteness and or translation, if you read "And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth. " it certainly looks as if it is saying he lived to 130, but then Genesis 5:4 says that after Seth was born Adam lived another 800 years, and 5:5 says that he died as a 930 years old gaffer.

This translation seems better as you can understand it without further reading: "After Adam lived 130 years he fathered a son like himself and named him Shet."
