>>My first movie on Blu-Ray. It's even better than I remembered. I wish I could write this well just for one day. (Stealing lines from David Bowie). It captures perfectly American high school life in the 1970s.

>>The Molly Ringwald character was me in every detail . Even more so in Sixteen Candles. Her birthday and everyone forgot about it.

>That movie actually came out in 1985. Having graduated high school in 1984 I also felt hit was spot on. Fast Times at Ridgemont High is till my favorite flick in that genre. Almost Famous was another great movie also written/directed by Cameron Crowe. Interestingly many of the things in Almost Famous were taken from Cameron Crowe's experiences as a YOUNG YOUNG teenager when he was a reporter for Rolling Stone magazine..haha. Despite doing this for R.S. he also graduated high school a year early - then went to California to a high school with the hidden agenda of coming up with a book/movie - which he did..which is where Fast Times at Ridgemont High came from.
Thank you for the correction about the year. I am a little irritated at you for being 9 years younger than me ;-)
Speaking of young, my daughter Emily is visiting this weekend. She is sleeping at the moment, of course. She was up until after 2:00 watching who knows what on cable. I keep telling her I used to keep late hours myself and she doesn't believe me. Dads are born old.
