This is not a bug and was never intended to be like that. So, when clicking on it, it will give all messages which have been created from the time of the message you are viewing, no matter in which branches they are, thus everything new in that thread since that marker.

Thanks. I think the text for this new option needs to be adjusted "Enable viewing all messages starting from that message" (not from that thread).
