>>>Agreed. Look at the Boy Scouts in the US. They are being pressed by the press and the 'enlightened ones' to allow that now.

>>Nonsense. You're implying that every gay man is a child molester. In fact, the incidence of child molesters is the same for gay and straight adults.

>Actually, as I read it, Bill is not implying that every homosexual man is a child molester. Rather I interpret what he says to mean that by accepting one deviation and - sorry to say it folks, but to me homosexual behavior is a deviation- one might be opening the door for acceptance of the next.
>Given what I've seen since the 60's, I'd have to say that's he's got a point.

Statistical deviation or "abnormal"? It would seem homosexual behavior is quite normal for a a homosexual, where heterosexual behavior would be "abnormal".

I find it odd that anyone thinks the bulwark against or "cure for" homosexuality it some kind of legal, religious or social anathema. I don't think liberalized laws or attitudes about homosexual conduct would make it in any way more personally appealing to me, just as I don't condemnation and persecution by the righteous has had much effect on the historic fact that a certain percentage of the population is wired differently in this respect.

The slippery slope arguments seem on the same level as wanting to strangle red-headed infants as we cannot suffer a witch to live.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
