That is the choice of the organizers and presenters. I understand their choice. However, there is another model employed by other organizations where the materials are available immediately following the conference at a cost of about 1/3rd of attending the conference. The income from that cost is shared in order to help provide the conference next year and reimburse the presenters for the effort. That is a model that may be worth consideration.
