Rick, I don't know who you think you are preaching to here. I have done lots and lots of volunteer work. In fact I am newly involved with another one, a food bank in northern Illinois. So please don't preach at people indiscriminately.
Good luck with that new economic model thing. Also, as someone (Victor? Hugo?) already said, they are not mutually exclusive. One can make a living and also do good works.
