I guess we have different remembrances here. Mine is that you didn't have to worry about installed programs dropping like shrapnel all around you. And we didn't have to seek out obscure third party programs to help us through the transition. I didn't know or care whether Microsoft was an evil monopoly. They just made my computer easy to use. Like an appliance.

FWIW I don't like your selective quotebacks. At some point in long running threads it makes sense. I just think you do it more tactically. A reply to the full discussion is the norm here.
