I had several instances where it was SUPPOSED to keep everything, but didn't. It became easier to backup data, run a list of applications, and just install from scratch. Driver issues tended to be the most problematic.

And we didn't have to seek out obscure third party programs to help us through the transition. I didn't know or care whether Microsoft was an evil monopoly. They just made my computer easy to use.
