This is not so. The structure of a FOX2X table (one either created in 2.6 or created in VFP with the COPY TO ... FOX2X keyword) can be modified in VFP with no harm to its FOX2X status and it's ability to be use in 2.6. Adding a free table to a DBC will change it's status to a VFP table since the FOX2X header has no room to accomodate the DBC name, null support, etc. etc.
