>I was on tour with a band in the mid '80's. On the last night at the Albert Hall one of the guitarsts (who was quite shy and humble) stepped up stage front for his only solo and the roadies lowered a Spinal Tap sized Stonehenge from the lighting rig behind him. The whole audience were on their feet, clapping and cheering. Poor guy couldn't work out why he was getting such an ecstatic reception (until he turned round) :-}

Love it! Truly one of the great movies of all time.

About 5 years ago my wife had a weird episode of Transient Global Amnesia. For 24 hours most of your short term memory is instantly erased. Anything else is spotty.

In the Emergency Room she was feeling nauseous and she said that the only thing she feared more than choking on her own vomit was choking on someone else's vomit. (she otherwise could not remember asking the same questions over and over every minute or so for six hours ! )

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
