Well, its not that easy with many of my clients and evidently with the computing public as a whole by the rejection of Windows 8.
Some of my clients/customers don't know what version of Windows they are using and could care less, so if you take a client base like this and try to get them to find something in Windows 8 - well, the little bit of hair I have left is almost gone now.
Whereas before, explaining "in the lower left hand corner there is a little button you can push - see it, it's called a start button - push it, then select programs - see it.... etc., etc. etc". I can deal with this type of conversation much better than the mess in Windows 8.
Now, I know there are keyboard shortcuts - but after 25+ years of trying to explain what the CTRL: key or Windows key is - I'll pass, just give me a mouse pointer and the Start button please....:)
>The 8,1 start button doesn't really do anything but put a button on the screen - it doesn't bring back the start menu which is what most people complain about.
>
>FWIW, I've never really understood the complaint - the start screen provides basically the same functionality as the start menu did so most of the complaints are merely along the 'don't move my cheese' variety...

>>>I suspect some know about this product, but I am now using the Start 8 menu from:

>>>That pretty much gives a Windows 7 Start Menu with all features like Windows 7. It cost $5 bucks but well worth it. If you hate the looks of Windwos 8 as much as I do, you might want to take a look at this.
