Not quite exactly right. It's describes it as a "circle". Not a "sphere"...a circle. Meaning flat and round...like a pancake. Bible thumbers like to point to Isaiah 40:22, which says: "It is he who sits above the circle of the earth". In Job, the shape of the Earth is a little more specific, when it says that the "Earth takes shape like clay under a seal."
This Isiah quote, the word "round" may be translated as "sphere" as well, but to be honest that doesn't make sense in the context, because in the next line he says he spreads over it like a tent. You spread a tent over a flat surface though, right?
The bible also says the sky is a solid thing which rests on pillars:
Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass? (Job 37:18)
The pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he has set the world upon them. (1 Sam. 2:8)
God shakes the earth out of her place, and its pillars tremble. (Job 9:6)
The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof. (Job 26:11)

The Bible not only failed to claim that the Earth was egg-shaped, but it also claimed in numerous verses that the earth is flat, has edges, has four corners, has pillars, and has foundations.
