Who are you and what have you done with KG?

Please, let's not go there.

The old KG taunted and denied that Android was dominating smartphone sales when I tried to report sales figures. But whatever.

I think you're placing WAY too much on a single statement I made back in early 2011, when I questioned the significance of the # of Google activations that took place during WP7's roll-out. Those activations are a gross aggregate that include replacement/upgrade devices. I also said I wasn't sure that MS actually made the specific early sales predictions that the media claimed.

Besides....and I think most people know this....six months after that discussion, by summer 2011 we saw the reports of what MS was making in $$$ for every Android device sold (largely from MS/HTC patent licenses.) ZDNet continues to publish those stats. So to measurable degree, these arguments are really about as interesting as a debate on whether a car is truly made in the U.S. versus overseas. :)

Now - if you REALLY want to see some numbers, look at the Apple app store $$$ compared to the Android store.
