Sure, hyperpartisan politics did not start with this presidency but I don't think it has ever been this extreme.

That's certainly true. Both sides are to blame for that. There is no question that Obama's conduct in the first two years made a ton of enemies. Then again, I don't like some of the tactics of the Tea Party. Check out my next post.
