>>There's a cabin named after him at Augusta National. He stayed there when he played as President. Do you really think that he paid a greens fee?

Early in my career I worked with a guy who was a die hard golfer with a 2 handicap. We were working on a project near L.A. and one weekend he went up to the Bay Area to play at Pebble Beach. The greens fees were $75, and that was in early 1980s dollars. He said I will definitely feel the $75 this month but I may never get this opportunity again. (As it turned out, he made partner at Andersen -- at the time he was staff, which his supervisor said sounded like an infection -- so I imagine now he can play anywhere he likes and not feel the sting). Afterwards he said the course kicked my butt but it was worth it.
