I would think Staples is reputable. Don't beat the poor tech support guy to death with your feelings.

Many people hate MS, but there are many issues at play as to 1) why Windows 8 is the way it is 2) The need for the software key (this one mainly due to stop piracy). There are many reasons why Win8 is superior to Win7 including better memory management, better battery life, better malware protection (there are more).

I will probably call Toshiba support tomorrow and if I get nowhere I will return the notebook. I know I will pay the restocking fee but since Windows 8 sucks and upgrade to Windows 8.1 sucks even more (although maybe 8.1 is ok) it will save a lot of aggravation. I know you like MS products and you have been always very helpful so I don't want to offend you. Otherwise, I would use some bad language here <g>.
