did some easy checks - after minimal URL mangling I can reach the US store from the old world, and during first tries from the german side a chat offer flowed in - probably the way the other guy contacted. While even over here ZDNet showed that only 2012 version is officially eligible, if I get a direct MS response for older version - why not, as both sides win in my mostly play situation. Bargaining worked long before SW was invented. If you happen to have a link to that post or an idea where/when to search, might give better chances for me to argue.
