Whether he knew about this before it happened or not:
a) he's widely known to be vindictive;
b) hard to believe his staff would have done this without thinking he'd appreciate it;
c) given his history as a US attorney (about which I've only heard positive things), you'd think that once questions were raised, he would have done a thorough investigation in-house.
So, we shall see.
