>...and the demonization of Obamacare is anti-intellectual IMHO.

John, here's a summary of what I said.. All of these are facts.

- State insurance commissioners estimate that about 20% of those "enrolled" have not paid a premium - which brings the actual enrollment down to about 3.2 million. That is less than half the stated goal of 7 million by the end of March.

- A certain % of the 3.2 million are people who either lost their plans, or were already eligible for Medicaid. There's very little proof that AHCA is covering a vast # of people who were previously uninsured. With each passing month, the estimated # of people who will still be uninsured goes up and up. Which means what we have now, and will likely have in the future, is really more a political shell game.

- Rate of new enrollments per month has been decreasing

- Certain states are having major issues with state-run exchanges where the specifics are as bad as the state of healthcare.gov back in the fall.

- The % of "young/health" demographic is estimated right now to be about 25% - well below the 40% needed to avoid payout issues.

- Barack Obama has just issued 27 executive orders regarding changes, some of which are for political expediency (so as not to coincide with elections). The most recent one delays the mandate for small businesses (50-100 people) for another year - which occurred shortly after the CBO estimated that another 10 million would lose their plans in the fall of 2014. And each business must sign a declaration that their workforce size was not adjusted to be eligible for the delay (under penalty of IRS perjury).

- The "if you like your plan, you don't have to do a thing" line (stated as recently as fall 2013) has been proven a lie - Barack Obama was recorded a few years ago as acknowledging that a few million would lose their plan. His executive orders and delays are likely a way to spread out the catastrophes and to not coincide with elections as much as possible.

- While he and HHS initially promised they would publish the names of every individual/group that sought a waiver to AHCA, the administration no longer publishes those. Labor unions that initially pushed for AHCA now want nothing to do with it.

- The automated payment piece that directly transfers Obamacare subsidies to insurance companies hasn't yet been implemented. (I'll stand corrected if this has changed).

Exactly which part of this is anti-intellectual demonization?

Just like the "anecdote does not equal information", there's another phrase....."inconvenient bad news does not equal demonization". Sadly, most of the major media outlets are quite supine in their coverage of these issues, and do a good job equating facts about AHCA with the sentiment of, "oh, they just bring up the bad news because they hate Obama because of his skin color" THAT, sir, IS anti-intellectual.
