Exactly my point, Jesus' description in the Bible was exactly about that, a battle against the religious leaders and institutions of his time. What was funny during that time, there were two mainstream religious traditions, the Pharisees and the Sadducees. They were enemies with each other, but in the fight against Jesus they joined forces together and created a coalition against the common enemy. Their doctrinal separation suddenly was less of a hurdle in the view of their common ground of hatred against the simple man.
