Well... I'm not sure what happened, but it appears that the problems have been resolved.
I can now run the .exe, exit it, and it is no longer continuing to run.

To retrace my steps today...
Until I get a replacement pc, I've been worried about my XP vulnerability.
So I removed the Security Essentials program which they said was no longer valid.
I installed the free version of Avast to get SOME kind of protection.
I did a scan... and it did find 2 infected files which it supposedly fixed (who knows what they might have been).
Fiddled around some more with the test app (made the screen size smaller), and now it's working.

We'll see what happens going forward.

Also, I figured out the problem of the missing main.prg in that visual foxpro subdirectory. Apparently in testing with
the test app, I must've deleted the main.prg (then VFP was looking for it in that VFP folder.)

Thanks to Lutz, I also learned about dropbox... lol

Meanwhile, I can't thank ALL of you guys enough for the time you've spent with your suggestions.
I don't get on UT much, but whenever I've had a problem or question in the past, you guys have always been there.

Every time I come back in to VFP, I just LOVE this product. I just can't understand why MS stopped supporting it.
To me, it's been the greatest thing since ham n eggs.

Thanks again guys,
Rich Murillo
