>Thanks, unfortunately in Windows 7 the option 'Browse in same window' has been removed, so it does not work anymore. It seems to be possible by changing the registry but this is not something I can ask the clients to do, so I have to leave it the way it is. That also means I cannot expect it to work with PDF for the client either because their settings might be different than mine.

Actually, when I googled "Office Viewer ActiveX Control", I found many free alternatives.
