Everyone keeps advising you to store only filenames, but that seems not tobe your question. So if you want to store the actual pics -- which by the way IS a good idea for data integrity - use a field type of blob rather than general and just do:

And is a really crappy idea if it is a large database to begin with and you actually have to backup or restore the database :)
