Some are in South America, some are in Europe. I wasn't looking asking Mike to "walk it back", was simply providing some context that the original quote was based on U.S. figures. (And unless the scenario has changed, MS still gains $-wise based on every Android phone sale- I believe the reverse is not true).

You above all should know I've said many times that MS (even despite some technology advancements) is still a distant third. And I'm currently a satisfied iPhone/iPad user. But what can't be denied is that MS has had a spike in the world in the last 12 months - and that can't be ignored. There are more and more individual data points popping up where support for MS WP is required. Though clearly, they'll need more and greater spikes to move anywhere beyond "distant third". So I don't think anything being said here by any of us is necessarily conflicting. Summary: MS is doing better - but still a long way to go.
