The question is, whether you believe other first world nations would accept this sort of thing. That you call Obama a liar, does not alter the issue that people in first world communities should not be shooting at classmates or strangers every day or two. Something is awry.

Clinton was right that you need to watch trend lines rather than headlines and this is true on both sides of this debate. Here's a list of so-called mass shootings in 2014: http://shootingtracker.com/wiki/Mass_Shootings_in_2014

116 instances according to these figures, in which case you're right that it's not weekly- it's every day or two. Now consider current Fox trumpeting about single fatality shootings being falsely counted as mass shootings. The shooting in Georgia on 1/5 caused no deaths, so who wants to tell the 4 injured victims that it doesn't count because none of them died? Seems to me that instances don't vanish just because people choose an old definition of "mass murder" to make it easier to call Obama a liar and sidestep the real issue.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
