Incentive for what exactly? What possible "incentive" is there for someone to take a job that does not pay them enough to survive? "incentive" to have a choice between paying rent or eating? Cause if you make minimum wage that will be your choice every month. No... the purpose of the wage is to force companies to pay their employees a fair salary - and by fair I mean pay them enough money so they can live off it. If I have to pay an extra 30cents for my BigMac so that the guy behind the counter can afford a BigMac too then so be it - but this business where people think we need to keep the minimum wage low as possible and give tax breaks to the rich so they can 'trickle down" the money to the little guy is...well it's just stupid and duh it's been proven it does not work - as evident by the ever-expanding igap between the haves and the have-nots in this country.
