I will not bore you with chapter and verse but I love this show. As is so often the case, I am late to the party. It's in about its 5th or 6th season. I have had season 1 on DVD kicking around for a long time, bought for a song in response to a critical rave. At the moment I am laid up with a bum ankle so have had a great opportunity to catch up on unwatched DVDs and unread books. "Nurse Jackie" is the one that has jumped out at me. The star and focus is Edie Falco as Jackie, an ER nurse. She proves her acting chops because Jackie could not be much more different from Carmela Soprano. The other characters are equally well imagined and depicted. My favorite will be an easy guess for anyone who knows me at all, LOL.

Great writing, great acting -- a recipe for compelling drama. As one of the characters in the show would say, I will stop gushing now.
