Thank you, John. I am through making excuses. They talk about hitting bottom. I think this is my bottom, so I going to do something. I actually know people in AA whose bottom was a lot lower than this so I can be grateful that the worst I have done is act like a complete jerk when drinking. Not that there is anything good about that but I haven't gone to prison, nearly killed people while driving drunk (I don't do that), or the like.
I didn't log on to keep the conversation going, only to write down the contact info Tracy gave me. There is also a place in Waukegan that has been recommended to me by some group members who have been there. I am going to go in somewhere as soon as I can get admitted.
