>>You might think I'm exaggerating, but consider this. There was once a discussion on the VFP grid supposedly being superior to the WinForms datagrid. A web link/blog entry on the shortcomings of the .NET datagrid was offered as proof. The only problem was that the web link was discussing the ASP.NET datagrid
They're all horrid. jqGrid with bootstrap mods rules- even if you have to display it in a browser control in one of these grandpa environments. ;-)
>> Bonnie Berent.... had a policy for years of never voicing an opinion or a perspective about a technology topic unless she had used it.
Sort of like commenting on international affairs by people who never went further than Nebraska? ;-)
Seriously, you don't have to be a carpenter (or a DBA) to know whether a new table is any good. As it is, even your young daughter says that typed datasets are silly so you might as well stop denying the tide and move on from your transistor technologies.
- and yes, that is my idea of a joke, not some sort of elaborate insult. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
