Hi,
Open your report (modi report) right click in the grey area next to the report, you will be presented with a menu, click on last item Properties, you will than be presented with a form like on attached file ReportProperties.png. This report has colums (2) with a width of 678, so look at attached file Report.png it shows similar like your picture.
Now before you mess around be sure to have the reportfiles backedup!
