>>Bill, I know a 27 year old who makes about 35K....lives at home with parents who make six figures, pays no rent or food...and gets subsidies.

>So do I.
>In fact, I raised a couple like that.
>They were slow to get out into the world, so they stayed home and mooched off mom and dad for a while after college.
>Subsidies? Hell- they got a completely free ride!
>Both finally got out, made tons of money on their own, and went on to have terrific lives.
>They're now supporting their own moochers, despite their "entitlement" mentalities.

>How were mom and dad able to do that?
>Well, dad was a moocher himself. He went thru college on the GI bill, supported in part by a widowed mother (another moocher - one of Reagan's "Welfare Queens") who had been on welfare for a while herself till she got on her feet and worked at least 2 jobs most of her life.
>
>So, yes, I know a lot moochers like the one you mentioned.

Bill, there's a big difference between people on the GI bill or people on welfare while working to make ends meet - and parents who make life too easy for their 20-something kids. If that story of your kids is indeed true (and without revealing specifics, I've learned recently that some tall-tales are being told up here on personal experiences...not you, so I have no reason to doubt you), that's the exception rather than the rule.

I don't have a problem with welfare for folks who need it - I'm talking about the govt making a business out of it and expanding it. George Bush is very guilty of this and Obama has taken it even further.
