Robin earned the right to lead his crew and rob the rich (who had inherited their wealth) and he made a monkey out of young Johnny. (or at least the legend says he did. Sorry, I can't forget Mel Brooks while typing this)
Inherited wealth and power didn't work well then and they don't work well now.
They are pernicious and destructive.
