>>>Maybe, but then you're getting into expectations.
>>
>>Sure.
>>Once you get past basic survival (and I don't mean to trivialize that- a lot of people are struggling just to survive) expectations matter.

>Yes, getting beyond basic survival is a huge step. I agree.

>And I don't mean to beat this horse to death, but strong work ethic matters. One of my favorite movies is "Glory Road". There's a scene that I used to relate to my students when I was an instructor. Coach Don Haskins tells his players, "When I was a player, I wasn't the fastest or the strongest or the most talented. But I could win by out-hustling and out-working the competition. I'll teach you that. My way's hard" Classic scene.

Yes, that's true.
The greatest golfers I ever saw, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead were loaded with talent, but behind the scenes they also put a lot of thought and hard work into their games - especially Tiger and Hogan.
Hogan looked forward to practicing during hurricanes so that he could learn to hit shots under severe wind conditions.
Lots of people worked as hard or harder and got nowhere near the same results.
Nonetheless those people might have considered themselves successful because of their expectations.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
