>>>(Re ICD-10) A survey will certainly show that most MDs are against that.

>Yep- the same survey showed exactly that.

>FWIW, this survey also has MDs expressing disappointment about EHR systems. As the MD is your customer in this respect, does their voice count this time, or will the requirement to implement EHR continue regardless?

Since in our niche, most of the time the MDs pay the bill and order the system, we would be out of business if we did not. Since our EMR often is situated under the hospitals EHR most are very happy they do not have to use the limited EHR. Our EMR is contains much more field specific functionality.

But the point is that the government should step up to protect the customer from outrages charges, because customers hardly have a choice and have no time to go shopping for the best/cheapest MD to treat their problems. Our costumers receive a proposal and contracts for purchase and maintenance. Two total different worlds.

I've seen enough of American Medical Billing. The ICD9 has gaping holes in it (which hopefully will prove to be addressed next year when ICD10 is put into place), The CPT codes are being abused and the common practise is that insurance companies are paying double of what private patients are paying. I've seen this in a couple of places in the US now, that really explained to me why on average the American people pay most for their healthcare.
