When I say hang its more like verrrrry slow filtering the data and populating the grid. For example if I have a table with 50,000 customer names issuing the command

Set filter to "MARY MURPHY" $ uppe(name)

can take minutes rather than seconds. It does eventually get there but the client justifiably does not want to wait. It is only a problem using Win7 and especially Win8 PCs when connected to a server containing the tables. In stand-alone Win7 it does not seem to be an issue. Although having said this, I do have clients using Win7 and there does not seem to be an issue... Or maybe they are putting up with the wait.. :)

In any case I feel I need to move up a platform and am wondering if Lianja is the way to go. I am hoping I can take my existing projects and just import, recompile and run. Am I expecting too much here?
