I'll check anti-virus settings. It seems to be a problem in some installations and not others. A recent client installed new Win8 machines running off an existing server, and its a disaster. All worked fine under XP previously. Searches may work for an hour or so and then a long hang on data searches with the message "Not responding". Ending the task and restarting the app will run fine again for a while.
Damn frustrating..:)
